Guided Wildlife Walk: Thurs 10th August 2023 – The wonder of waders and other mudlarkers

As summer fades, it is time for millions of breeding birds to bid farewell and return to their winter quarters. As we wish them all a safe journey back to their winter homes, we are compensated by our wading birds that become prominent at this time of year, so we will visit local wetlands to look for birds passing through. We are likely to see good numbers of Black-tailed Godwits, Greenshanks, Common, Green and Wood Sandpipers. Raptors will also be on the move so we’ll look out for Ospreys that fish annually on the estuaries.

Leaders: John Grant and David Walsh.

  • Starting at 8.30am at the Froize for tea and coffee
  • Includes a two-course lunch (please inform us of your dietary requirements)
