Guided Wildlife Walk: Sat 13th July 2024 – Sandlings Natural World

A GUIDED WILDLIFE WALK

Breeding songbirds will be coming to the end of their season, but there is still much activity. Shorebirds are already making their return journey to more southern climes and some are arriving to stay the winter.  There are endless opportunities to explore nearby sites and this morning we will take a trek through Staverton Thicks, one of Suffolk’s oldest woodlands. The woodland is mentioned in The Doomsday Book of 1086 and is famous for hosting the tallest holly trees in Britain. Our focus will be on birds but we’ll also look for butterflies and dragonflies.
