Guided Wildlife Walk: Wed 14th Aug 2024 – The wonder of waders and other mudlarkers

A GUIDED WILDLIFE WALK

As summer fades, it is time for millions of breeding birds to bid farewell and return to their winter quarters. As we wish them all a safe journey back to their winter homes, we are compensated by our wading birds that become prominent at this time of year, so we will visit local wetlands to look for birds passing through. We are likely to see good numbers of Black-tailed Godwits, Greenshanks, Common, Green and Wood Sandpipers. Raptors will also be on the move so we’ll look out for Ospreys that fish annually on the estuaries.
